Football tips: The center-quarterback exchange

In football, it all starts with the center-quarterback exchange. Literally.

The exchange starts off every play. And if your offense is one that still puts the quarterback under center (i.e. you don’t run the spread), here’s a short video explaining how it works.

One thing the coach doesn’t mention, which we think is kind of important, is repetition in practice. The exchange is easier when the QB and center are familiar with the exchange. Run drills with everyone who plays the positions — all of the centers and all of the QBs.
