For your opponents’ safety, strap your biceps down while on the field

September 15, 2011

Football biceps bandsBiceps bands for proper gun control.

Just a friendly reminder from your friends at Football America:

Always remember to secure your biceps to your arm when you’re on the field.

After all, nobody wants to see a pair of dangerous pythons running loose out there. One set of bands (above) works great, but if you’re carrying around a pair of truly monstrous arm cannons like TCU’s Tank Carder, three bands is the minimum.

Nike Home and Away Maize/White Dri-FIT Arm BandsIf you need to get your guns under control, take a look at our wide selection of Nike arm bands.

They’re made with Nike’s Dri-FIT fabric, so they won’t get soggy or lose their stretch, and the flat-seam construction provides a comfortable fit without any itching or binding.

They have a nine-inch resting circumference and can stretch to 21 inches. If your arms are larger than 21 inches, we might suggest using a hula hoop or a bicycle tire as a band.

Anyway, Nike’s arm bands are available in seven different color styles, with home and away patterns. Each pack includes two pairs, with reversible colors.

Steelers great Jerome Bettis dished out his share of punishment, but also knew how to stay healthy

September 15, 2010

Jerome Bettis protects his elbows... and destroys everything in his path

In 12 years in the NFL, Jerome Bettis rushed for 13,662 yards and 94 touchdowns. He was a six-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro selection and the 1993 Rookie of the Year.

Built like a freight train and just as powerful, Bettis was known for dishing out punishment.

McDavid Elbow Protective SleeveBut as much pain as he doled out, the 5-10, 255-pound “Phat back” understood the importance of protecting himself. Throughout his career, Bettis wore elbow pads and elbow sleeves.

Elbow sleeves are huge for running backs who see a lot of interior handoffs. When you hit the hole, your forearms and elbows can take some hard hits from helmets, shoulder pads and the arms of defenders trying to strip the ball.

Stay healthy with McDavid’s Protective Elbow Sleeve. The 12-inch contoured sleeve features premium taped and darted seams for maximum flexibility and comfort. It’ll protect you without feeling too bulky.

The sleeve is covered with knit nylon on inner surface and tough rubber on the outer surface.
