You can’t spell Obama without B-A-M-A

This past week, President Obama honored the Alabama Crimson Tide football team for its victory in this year’s BCS National Championship.

The Tide rolled the Texas Longhorns 37-21 in early January. As of the start of spring practices, they’re widely considered one of the top teams in the nation and a serious competitor for next year’s national championship.

Here’s the video of Alabama, including coach Nick Saban and Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, meeting with the President:

Thursday trivia: Before this year, when was the last time Texas lost a bowl game?

With the unfortunate scheduling of last week’s BCS National Championship — falling on a Thursday — it made things tricky with football trivia.

But no worries. Our first question this week is a throwback to last week’s game, which saw Alabama defeat Texas 37-21.

The question is:

Before this year’s loss to the Crimson Tide, when was the last time Texas lost a bowl game?
